Long-Tail Keyword
A long-tail keyword is a longer, more specific search phrase, typically three or more words, that targets a narrow shopper intent. Examples include "personalized leather dog collar" or "minimalist gold bar necklace for her" rather than the broad single word "necklace."
Long-tail keywords usually have lower search volume but also far less competition and higher conversion rates, because the shopper using them knows exactly what they want. For newer shops especially, ranking for several well-chosen long-tail phrases is far more attainable than fighting for a single high-traffic broad term.
A strong tag strategy mixes a few broader terms with many long-tail phrases. eRank's keyword research helps you discover long-tail variations and assess their demand and competition so you can fill your tags strategically.
